Vegan Restaurant 222

222 Vegan Restaurant is a short walk from West Kensington.

The owner Ben Asamani is a chief was very friendly and gave us a brief history of how he started in Soho and Piccadilly until he eventually opened in Kensington. I was very surprised that the restaurant had been open for 11 years.

Ben was busy with overseas visitors, but he was kind enough to spend time with us about his background, family,ย trials and tribulations. Some people will think its strange for a Ghanaian to open a Vegan restaurant as you know most Africans like to chew on meat. However I do commend him on his determination.ย Its great how he connects with the customers with his warm smile and greetings.

I did not know what to order so I was very grateful to the friendly waiter who had patience with me and was able to describe all the dishes.ย ย If you unsure like me, then there is the lunch time buffet between 12-3:30pmย where you can eat from 6 hot dishes and 6 cold dishes.

This was the first time that I had been to a vegan restaurant and I am glad that 222 was my first as it did not disappoint my taste buds. Although my bellyย was full I couldn’t resist theย kind offering of aย complementary dessert that we shared.

ย So what are you waiting for. If you want a healthy, delicious meal then head towards Kensington. The place was very busy so I suggest booking before youย visit.
