Project Okurase

BAG of CEMENT

The objectives of Project Okurase are to provide skills training and formal education to vulnerable children, women, and to connect orphaned children with families that have the capacity to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs ofย a child. Thisย will allow the children to grow healthfully into strong and independent adults.

As part of Okurase will be The Nkabom Centre which is an NGO started by director and master drummer Samuel Yeboah aka โ€˜Powerfulโ€™. The Nkobom centre is being designed to consist of 16 buildings: an Administration Building, Accommodation Buildings, Workshops, School, Dinning, Indoor Recreation, Way Forward Homes, Recording Studio. The centre is being built by local labor by the people from the village of Okurase who wish to make a better life for their children and people in their village and to leave a legacyย

The friends of The Calabash Hub implemented the BAG of CEMENT campaign in January 2014 to raise awareness of Projectย Okurase and to collect donations to be used to purchase cement and raw materials. In Ghana cement (50kg)ย costs approx 16 Ghana cedis which is equivilant to approx ยฃ4, which are vital elements needed towards the construction.
DONATIONS can be in the form of one off payments or monthly contributions. Our aim is to raise ยฃ1000 by November 2014
