MORE THAN HAIR

Event organised by uknaturals Naomi and Rachy. It was an event to mark their first anniversary of uknaturals and also a fundraiser for Cancer Awareness.

 The event took place in The Paradise bar in Kilburn on Sunday 9^th September.

As I arrived I was welcomed by Naomi daughter who presented me with a raffle ticket and a goody bag courtesy of one of the sponsors Curls and Kera Care. There was a mixture of young and elders in a small but intimate room where music was being played by the young DJs. Rachy and Naomi gave a brief introduction about their friendship and support for each other. They stressed the important of talking about cancer within the community, to be aware of the signs and symptoms and to perform regular checks. They had included a factsheet about cancer inside the goody bags.

On the front table was an abundance of boxed and nicely wrapped products for the raffle prizes. There were many lucky winners who were fortunate to win twice. The lucky winner was number 24 who won the hamper full of goodies courtesy of Gidore.

I spent most of the evening jisting with Ketishia and Naprika and it was nice to greet the lovely ladies who were representing Curls – one of the main sponsors and some new sisters.

Although I was only going to stay for a few hours I was one of the last people to leave.

It was nice to hear that people were still pledging donations in order for Rachy and Naomi to reach 1000 target. If you would like to know more uknaturals, fundraising and to donate contact: –
